StudentCam is C-SPAN’s annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think critically about issues that affect our communities and our nation. 2024 marked the 20th anniversary of the competition and we invited middle and high school students to create a short documentary addressing the theme, “Looking Forward while Considering the Past.”
11th grade student Ethan Lee from Crystal Springs Uplands School in Hillsborough, California won 3rd Prize for his documentary about fast fashion, “Threads of Change.” As a 3rd Prize winner, Ethan will receive $750 in prize money.
C-SPAN is funded by America’s cable and satellite television companies, who also support StudentCam. In Hillsborough, C-SPAN is available locally through Comcast.
“For two decades, StudentCam has served as a catalyst for inspiring young minds to think critically about issues that are important to them and we at Comcast are proud to be a part of that legacy,” said Beth Hester, External Affairs Vice President, Comcast, California Region. “We congratulate Ethan on this outstanding achievement in the 2024 competition.”
